The family of 24-year-old Victor Hidalgo is calling for justice after the Bronx native was struck and killed by an FDNY truck in Park Slope last month.

FDNY officials say the truck was responding to calls of a baby choking. They also say the first responder responsible for the crash has been placed on desk duty.

Hidalgo's aunt, Tomasa, says more needs to be done.

"Police, firefighters, they are here to protect citizens. For them to save lives but also be responsible for taking one, I just can't understand," said Tomasa Hidalgo.

Victor Hidalgo's funeral services are scheduled for later this month. He will be laid to rest in Mexico.
