The family of a man who was gunned down in a Coney Island public housing complex is demanding that police make an arrest.
The victim, 27-year-old Lawrence Walden, was shot eight times according to his sister, Shamiker Ford, who discovered his body.
Cops say the incident happened at around 9:30 p.m. Thursday night at 31-12 Bayview Ave., inside the Gravesend Housing Complex in Coney Island.
The victim's family says Walden was shot in the face as he was on his way to the store.
Tenants say Gravesend Housing Complex is in desperate need of security cameras that could help solve crimes. They also say that Walden's death isn't the first at the complex and that something needs to be done.
News 12 Brooklyn reached out to NYCHA, which said the City Council has set aside $900,000 for security upgrades, so security cameras will be coming.
Police have not yet made any arrests in the case.
