A young girl is recovering from injuries she sustained from playing with a toy this past weekend.
Melissa Void says her 7-year-old daughter Jayda suffered injuries to her face and scalp while playing with a squishy toy.
Void says the toy burst while her daughter was playing with it in her car, causing the liquid inside to burn her skin.
"As I was driving my car, I hear my daughter screaming, 'Mommy, mommy, mommy, please help me,'" says Void.
Jayda was taken to a hospital, where workers put the toy into a biohazard bag after seeing her injuries.
Void says they bought the toy from a CVS in Starret City. Now she wants to make sure this doesn't happen to any other families.
"The Consumer Product Safety Commission must order these squishy character toys taken off the shelves," says attorney Sanford Rubenstein.
Rubenstein says he is working to find out exactly who made the toys and to take legal action against the manufacturer and seller.
