A fatal car fire caused major closures this morning on the BQE and Gowanus Expressway.
Emergency workers responded just after 4 a.m. to reports of a fire on the Gowanus Expressway near Hamilton Avenue.
Officials report a person inside that car has died.
The medical examiner is on scene as the accident investigation gets underway.
