A Brooklyn father is fighting for more accountability from police 21 years after his teenage son was shot and killed by an NYPD officer in the Gowanus Houses.

Nicholas Heyward was playing a game of cops and robbers with a toy gun when he was shot and killed by housing officer Brian George in 1994. Heyward's father, Nicholas Sr., is urging the community to remember his son and continue to stand up to police injustice.

"We have an officer patrolling our streets for the last 21 years and he has committed a crime, a grave crime. He killed an innocent child," says Heyward Sr.

Heyward Sr. says that Kings County District Attorney Ken Thompson has agreed to revisit the case against the officer.
