FDNY: 1 dead, 3 others, including toddler, injured in Boerum Hill fire

Crews arrived to find that a fire had started in a back bedroom on the first floor of the six-story building.

The FDNY says a 67-year-old man is dead and three others, including a toddler, are injured after a Boerum Hill apartment fire.
The fire department was called to the Gowanus Houses after 4 p.m. Sunday. at 178 Bond St. Crews arrived to find that a fire had started in a back bedroom on the first floor of the six-story building.
Crews were able to bring the fire under control before 5 p.m. Police say a 51-year-old woman and two-year-old boy were found just steps from the front door. Two men, ages 60 and 67, were found in the kitchen.
Officials say all four victims were rushed to the hospital in cardiac arrest. The 67-year-old later died. As of Monday morning, police said the surviving victims were all stable.
It was not immediately clear what caused the fire as of Sunday night.
