A two-story building went up in flames Thursday morning and injured four people in Midwood.
According to first responders, firefighters were dispatched to Avenue M for an early morning fire.
One of the injured residents is in critical condition.
A charred e-bike was seen being pulled from the fire. Fire officials confirmed the e-bike was found in the hallway and made it difficult to put out the fire and get to the trapped residents.
The FDNY has since confirmed that an e-bike battery was the cause of the fire.
