FDNY: 9 injured in fire at Hamilton Heights apartment building

The fire started on the sixth floor of the building at 617 West 141st Street around 1:30 a.m., according to the FDNY. They say it took a total of 44 units, 198 firefighters and EMS workers to get the blaze under control.

Authorities say nine people were injured after a Hamilton Heights apartment building erupted in flames early this morning.
The fire started on the sixth floor of the building at 617 West 141st Street around 1:30 a.m., according to the FDNY. They say it took a total of 44 units, 198 firefighters and EMS workers to get the blaze under control.
Seven of the nine victims were taken to a hospital, authorities say.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
