The FDNY says two people were seriously injured after a structural collapse on Lincoln Road in Brooklyn.
Fire officials say it happened shortly before 1:15 p.m. near 437 Lincoln Road.
The city's Department of Buildings said its inspectors were called to the scene to investigate reports of a construction-related incident.
The DOB says there are active construction permits at the site for the vertical enlargement of the existing 2-story residential building into a five-story residential building.
The DOB says construction workers were performing demolition work on the second floor of the site when a partial roof collapse occurred.
Two workers were injured by falling debris from the partial roof collapse. They have been transported to the hospital for their injuries at this time, according to the DOB.
NYC Emergency Management said in a tweet that people should expect delays, road closures and emergency personnel in the area. People were urged to use alternate routes.
The investigation into the collapse is ongoing at this time.
