The FDNY brought holiday cheer to children and families of firefighters killed in the line of duty by giving them early Christmas gifts in Manhattan Sunday.
The Uniformed Firefighters Association Widows and Children's Fund has spent the last four decades giving back. At least 50 children got a chance to go on a shopping spree at FAO Schwartz and even rode in a firetruck with Santa Claus.
Families at the ceremony says it feels good to know their loved ones are not forgotten.
The event was canceled last year due to the pandemic, so families and FDNY leaders say it feels extra special to celebrate together this year.
