There will soon be 80 new paramedics on the streets of New York City, and the FDNY held a graduation ceremony for these new paramedic graduates.
These emergency responders completed the Paramedic Basic program from the FDNY, training at the EMS Academy, in the field and in hospitals.
“Each one of you has chosen a path that makes a difference in the lives of New Yorkers,” said an FDNY chief.
The FDNY says that these paramedics received training in everything from anatomy to biochemistry and learned many lifesaving skills.
