A fire broke out at a car auto shop in the Tremont section of the Bronx on Sunday morning.
The fire started at the I & S Auto Body Shop on Park Avenue around 10:25 a.m.
When they arrived on scene, firefighters had to deal with heavy smoke, so they broke the windows on the second floor to let the smoke out while they hosed down flames with water.
Battalion Chief Jeffrey Facinelli told News 12 that due to the freezing temperatures, the fire hydrants were frozen, so crews had issues with the water supply.
The fire department remained on the scene in the afternoon until they had the situation under control.
The owner of the body shop was on the scene as crews doused the fire. He did not want to go on camera but told News 12 more than 90% of the shop has been destroyed and did not know what sparked the flames.
The FDNY says no one was injured and the cause is still under investigation.
