Some fed-up Bronx tenants say they have been living without gas and hot water since the middle of June.
Tenants of 321 East 178th St. say they haven?t had a hot shower or home-cooked meal since June 11. Some say it is costing them a fortune to eat out at restaurants every day. The residents say they have even bought hot plates with their own money to do light cooking and to boil water for bathing.
The landlord has been handing out letters to the tenants apologizing for the repairs. According to the landlord, the gas was turned off due to a leak. The letters don?t indicate when the repairs will be completed or when the gas will be turned back on.
Some tenants signed a petition about the problems and plan to bring it to housing court this week.
