The driver of a FedEx truck was killed following a horrific crash on the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway Tuesday night.
Authorities say William J. Gardner, of New Hope, Penn., was headed east when he rear-ended another truck and hit a wall near the Metropolitan Avenue exit at around 11 p.m.
Gardner was thrown from the truck through the passenger side window and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the second truck survived, but there is no word on his condition.
Police say they do not suspect any criminality at this time, but the investigation is ongoing.
