As 17-year-old Raul "Lito" Valle was walking to his car, friends of Jimmy McGrath say Valle allegedly made a gesture toward them.
People started yelling, and it nearly started a fight.

Inside court, Valle was expected to enter a plea in the stabbing death of McGrath. Instead, his attorney Kevin Smith asked for more time.
Valle is being charged as an adult.
Police say McGrath was trying to break up a fight at a house party in Shelton on May 14, when he was allegedly stabbed to death by Valle. Police say Valle also stabbed three other teens.
Valle posted a $2 million bond and has been on house arrest ever since.
The judge added some stipulations Friday, including no internet access and a requirement to turn his cellphone over to his parents.

Valle and his attorney declined to comment.
Valle is due back in court in September.
Saint Joseph High School in Trumbull says Valle is no longer enrolled there.
