Emergency crews responded to a building fire on Van Cortlandt Avenue East Sunday afternoon.
One child was taken to Jacobi Medical Center and is in critical condition.
One firefighter was taken to North Central Bronx Hospital.
Officials did not say what sparked the building fire.
