A two-alarm fire broke out inside a grocery store on Broadway Friday morning, destroying the business and injuring several firefighters.
Officials say the blaze at Mini Market Deli broke out shortly after 8 a.m., enveloping the business in thick, black smoke. As many as 70 firefighters were called to the scene to battle the flames.
Several firefighters sustained minor injuries. One firefighter was taken to the hospital to be treated for a possible neck injury.
Nassir Nagi, the owner of the grocery store, says he not only lost his business in the fire, but also his apartment located above the deli.
