Hundreds attended a funeral Mass on Long Island Saturday morning for fallen firefighter and Bronx native FDNY Lt. Richard Nappi.
The 17-year FDNY veteran died Monday when he overheated and collapsed from an apparent heart attack while battling a warehouse fire in Brooklyn. Mayor Michael Bloomberg delivered the eulogy, recounting how Nappi was also a first responder to the World Trade Center on Sept. 11.
Nappi is survived by his wife and two children.
