According to the FDNY, the blaze started at approximately 10:43 a.m. on Halsey Street, between Central and Wilson avenues, in Bushwick.

Fire officials say the roof collapsed and the Department of Buildings was called to the scene to inspect the building after the fire was contained.

Everyone inside the church was safely evacuated, and no injuries have been reported.
