The first COVID-19 vaccines on Long Island for children under 5 were given at Cohen Children's Medical Center this morning.
Among the first kids to get the shots were the sons, daughters and grandchildren of doctors and nurses who work at the hospital.
The hospital workers say they are confident in the shots and stand behind the science.
As News 12 has reported, children ages 6 months to 5 years old are now eligible for the Pfizer and Moderna COVID vaccines after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention signed off on the shots this weekend.
