The first mayoral Democratic primary debate of the election season was held Wednesday night.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and Democratic opponent Sal F. Albanese faced off in a fiery debate at the Symphony Space on the Upper West Side.
They sparred on a variety of topics ranging from police-community relations to homelessness and mass transit.
Albanese says it's time for the city to take more responsibility for transit problems, while Mayor de Blasio pushed for a millionaire’s tax to help fix the transit system.
Also running in the Democratic mayoral primary are Richard Bashner, Robert Gangi, and Michael Tolkin.
