Firefighters were on the scene of an overnight fire that erupted inside a synagogue in Williamsburg.
According to fire officials, it took about 30 minutes to put out the flames on Hewes Street, between Lee and Bedford avenues. They say damage to the five-story building was minimal, and they were able to mostly contain the fire to the lower level.
Apartments and a Laundromat are also located on the premises, but no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
