A 47-year-old man is recovering after he was robbed at gunpoint inside his Flatbush apartment Tuesday night, police said.
The break-in happened around 9 p.m. at 39 East 21st Street between Caton and Woodruff avenues. According to police, two men dressed in black and wearing face masks forced their way into the apartment.
The men did not shoot the victim but they beat him up before stealing several of his belongings.
The attackers ran off before police arrived. The victim was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
No arrests have been made, and police are still searching for the two suspects.
The incident comes about two weeks after a
separate home invasion in Bushwick, where police say a man broke into a woman’s apartment while she was sleeping.
Investigators say that on October 6, the man put a pillow over the 43-year-old woman’s face, tied her up, sexually assaulted her and stole her belongings. That suspect also remains at large.
Police have not yet said how the suspects gained access to the Flatbush building or what was taken. The investigation is ongoing.
