Flatbush residents demand additional safety measures after man caught on camera lurking in building

Residents at an apartment building in Flatbush are demanding more safety measures after a man was caught on a Ring camera lurking inside.
They say the man who doesn't live in the building.
Residents say he was lurking around, and at times, allegedly exposed himself and engaged in lewd behavior.
The Ring camera video that was provided by tenants shows a shirtless man approaching a hallway camera on July 11 and deliberately covering the lens.
The next day, what appears to be the same man is seen returning and doing the same thing.
“This is just alarming,” said a resident who wanted to remain anonymous.
Residents believe the intrusions are due to ongoing security failures, especially broken locks at the building's entrances.

“I don't feel safe in my apartment. I don’t feel safe in this building. I don’t feel safe in this area at all,” said Johnson.
Tenants say management often provides temporary fixes but fails to implement lasting solutions. Residents also report that communication with the property manager has been inconsistent and ineffective.
“When we bring things up, he’ll send a text message saying, ‘I’ll let the super know,’” one tenant said. “Then you go talk to the super, and the super knows nothing about it.”
News 12 contacted the building’s property manager by phone, who said to “call back next week,” then ended the call.
News 12 also reached out to the landlord and left a voicemail. Additionally, News 12 texted the property manager to offer a second opportunity for comment, but has not received a response.
