A popular pop-up food and flea market returns next month in a brand new location.
Brooklyn Flea and Smorgasburg will occupy a 50,000-square-foot space overlooking the Manhattan skyline in Sunset Park's Industry City starting Oct. 17. Dozens of vendors will feature specialty items, including furniture, vintage clothing and art during the fall and winter.
The market, which will run every weekend through March 2016, occupies different locations every winter. However, organizers say this could be their permanent winter space for the coming years.
"We hadn't done a market in Sunset Park before. And so it kind of keeps life interesting. And we love all of the stuff that's going on in Sunset Park and all the vitality and all the different cultures that are here," says Smorgasburg co-founder Jonathan Butler.
