ALERT CENTER: Florida man accused of persuading teen to meet in town of Poughkeepsie for sexual activity

Thomas Rivera is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, sexual abuse and enticement of a minor.

A Florida man is facing charges for allegedly contacting a 13-year-old girl and persuading her to meet him in Dutchess County to engage in sexual activities.
The complaint says police were alerted about a teen being raped by a subject named Thomas at a hotel in the town of Poughkeepsie.
When they arrived, they found 32-year-old Thomas Rivera in the room and the girl in the bathroom. Police say the girl said Rivera tried to rape her.
Rivera is charged with endangering the welfare of a child, sexual abuse and enticement of a minor. He was released on bail.  
Rivera faces a minimum of 10 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted.
