As more and more people take a serious look at where their meat comes from, News 12's Natasha Geigel set out to find more about what packaging labels are important.
She met up with culinary expert Ariane Daguin of meat company D'artagnan to learn more about reading labels.
Daguin says vague labels like "natural" on a chicken don't really mean anything. Claims on labels like "cage-free" or "grass-fed" should also be verified or certified by a third-party for accuracy.
D'Artagnan offers its own line of products that are available online, plus at ShopRite, Fairway and Key Foods.
