Registering students for pre-k and kindergarten classes turned into an all-night affair in Mill Basin Sunday.Due to a limited number of openings at P.S. 236, parents began lining up Sunday night for Monday morning?s registration. Dozens of parents camped out hoping to get their child into one of 36 available seats. While the parents took it in stride, one parent called the system "foolish." Critics say the Department of Education needs to implement a lottery system. One Brooklyn resident donated a bus so parents could use the facilities, watch television and get some relief from the cold. A local business also sent over pizza for the parents.
