A recent Fordham Prep graduate is literally flying through minor league baseball.
Speedy middle infielder Andrew Velazquez led his Bronx alma-mater to the CHSAA championship game last year and has already been promoted within the Arizona Diamondbacks system.
Velazquez was drafted in the seventh round in June and joined the D-Backs as a rookie shortly after graduation. He tore up the league and is now playing for the Missoula Osprey of the Pioneer League.
