Forecast: Frigid temps, windy conditions follow slushy storm
Bitterly cold temperatures and windy conditions are in the forecast for the borough in the days ahead, following the storm that brought snow, slush and rain to the city.
Tonight will be partly cloudy, breezy and cold with winds WNW at 10-20 mph. Lows will be in the upper-teens and low-20s, but wind chills will make it feel like the single-digits.
As temperatures drop tonight, untreated and slushy surfaces could freeze, potentially making for icy sidewalks and secondary streets.
Tuesday will be sunny, breezy and cold with winds W at 10-20 mph. Highs will be near 30 degrees, but wind chills will be in the teens and 20s.
On Tuesday evening, an arctic cold front will pass through. More clouds and a passing flurry are both possible, but the bigger story is that it will turn even windier behind the front.
Tuesday night will be blustery and frigid, with lows in the teens and gusty WNW winds making it feel like the single digits by Wednesday morning.
For Ash Wednesday, it will be partly sunny, breezy and cold with highs in the upper-20s.
The next chance for wintry weather could come later in the week. News 12 meteorologists are tracking a clipper system that could bring some snow showers on Friday.
