Former Governor Andrew Cuomo paid a visit to the Bronx Thursday with the Rev. Ruben Diaz Jr. to attend a clergy meeting hosted by the New York Hispanic Clergy Organization.
The former governor arrived Thursday morning and addressed the crowd, but he did not announce a run for governor.
Instead, he talked about changes he wants to see in the city and within the government.
There was a warm welcome for Cuomo throughout his visit to the clergy meeting. He discussed his disdain for "cancel culture," social media negativity and said how hard things had been on him and his family since he stepped down. He addressed the sexual misconduct investigation and said it was used to hurt him politically.
Cuomo also took a hard stance on crime in the city and police abuse, attacking bail reform - all while paying tribute to Diaz and their past work in the Bronx together.
At the end, Diaz directly asked Cuomo if he was going to run for governor. Cuomo said he was keeping all of his options open and that it has been a hard year. He said he’s proud of how he governed.
