A former homeless Brooklyn man now has a place to call home, just in time for the holiday weekend.
For the past year and a half, 70-year-old Rich Heelan has lived in shelters.
A car crashed into Heelan's apartment, making it uninhabitable and soon after his wife died of a heart attack.
Thanks to a program with the city's Department of Homeless Services, Heelan now has a warm place to sleep every night.
Heelan says he feels blessed to have a place called home.
