The Detective Rafael Ramos Foundation handed out backpacks filled with school supplies to children at P.S. 59 in Brooklyn Thursday.
The foundation honors Rafael Ramos, who was assassinated along with his partner, Detective Wen Jun Liu, as they sat in their patrol car in Bedford-Stuyvesant in 2014.
About 300 students at the school received the new backpacks and school supplies.
Ramos' son Jaden also performed for the students with the youth drill team.
The foundation hopes to get more backpacks and school supplies to other schools next year.
