Free Narcan kits and training at Brooklyn church aims to save lives
Some New Yorkers learned how to use Narcan on Saturday at Lenox Road Baptist Church.
Narcan is a nasal spray that can reverse the effects of an opioid exposure. The Phoenix House of New York and the Women's Ministry gave out free Narcan and instructed people at the event on how to administer it.
Experts who spoke at the event said one New York resident dies of an overdose every three hours.
The organizers told News 12 that they hope the event provides people with the knowledge and resources needed to stay alive.
