A motorcade also made its way over to the arena to pay tribute.
While many fans could have watched the livestream of the memorial service from home, they said they wanted to pay homage to DMX in person.
DMX died at 50 years old following a heart attack on April 9.
Another service celebrating his life will be streamed on Sunday.
