Today marked National Vanilla Milkshake Day, and to celebrate, News 12's John Dias went out on a taste-test mission.

He stopped by Blue Marble Ice Cream Shop, where they serve up tons of the tasty treat and it's all blended by hand. Besides vanilla, they shake up other creations such as blueberry, coconut and root beer.

In Cobble Hill, workers at the Brooklyn Farmacy and Soda Fountain say their old-school environment helps make their shakes better. They hand-spin all of their shakes, and skip the plastic by serving them up in glasses only.
