A former teacher at P.S. 233 in East Flatbush has died following a battle with COVID-19.
Tricia Moses' journey included an autoimmune disease that causes a thickening of the skin and connective tissue, as well as a successful double lung transplant.
She was often seen using an oxygen tank in school to help her breathe. Moses, 46, was fully vaccinated.
The Department of Education released a statement saying: "Tricia Moses is a hero and an educator who constantly went above and beyond for her students. Our thoughts are with her loved ones during this difficult time and the collective NYC DOE family joins them in mourning this deep loss."
