A Bronx pastor is in danger of losing her collar in the coming years because she is gay.
The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is two years away from making a decision about whether it should allow gay pastors to be in same-sex relationships.
Rev. Katrina Foster of Fordham Evangelical Lutheran Church falls into that category. She is raising a 5-year-old daughter with partner Pamela.
After begging God to change who she was when she was a teen, Foster embraced her identity and found that the church embraced her.
Foster says no matter what the national church body decides, she will continue to follow her calling of leading the congregation and helping people in the Bronx.
Foster is one of four in New York and dozens nationwide that could be defrocked by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
