A farewell celebration was held Thursday in Flatbush for a George Floyd statue, which is heading to Manhattan.
The statue was originally unveiled at the intersection of Flatbush and Nostrand avenues toward the end of June.
But just a few days later, it was vandalized. The artists and others from the community worked together to restore it as best as they could, but now they plan to fully refurbish it before bringing it to Union Square.
News 12 is told the statue will be taken down on Monday.
