New York Giants president and CEO John Mara announced on Monday that he was diagnosed with cancer.
"I have recently been diagnosed with cancer and have been following the treatment plan recommended by an outstanding team of doctors. I'm feeling strong and optimistic,” Mara
wrote in a statement.
Mara, 70, says he plans to remain active with the team throughout his treatment.
“I'm fortunate to be surrounded by incredible support—personally, professionally, and medically,” Mara wrote.
Mara did not disclose what type of cancer he had.
