Italian culture filled the streets of Williamsburg as the Giglio Feast kicked off Wednesday.
The festival, started in 1903, is hosted by the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. The celebration of Italian history and culture features plenty of food, music, rides and games.
The festival will feature the traditional Giglio lift, when hundreds of men carry the 85-foot tall structure and a boat to honor the Catholic saint, St. Paulinus. The heavy structure weighs about two tons.
The feast runs through Sunday, July 20.
