Giovanni's Brooklyn Eats on 8th Avenue was damaged after a fire broke out in the kitchen on Saturday morning.

No customers were inside at the time and the staff got out of the building safely, according to authorities.

The owner says the building sustained significant damage and will be shut down for the time being.
