If you are planning on heading to the beach during Memorial Day weekend, here's what you need to know before you go.
Beachgoers will notice less COVID restrictions compared to last year - when some beaches required people to social distance and mask up in certain areas.
"We don't have any mandated COVID restrictions, but we do practice common sense safety," says Jason Pinto, recreational supervisor of Mamaroneck’s Parks and Recreation Department.
Hand sanitizer is available and Harbor Island Park staff in Mamaroneck will be monitoring the beach to ensure it's not too crowded.
The goal is to ensure everyone can enjoy the return of beach season.
In New Rochelle, Glen Island Park's beach will officially open for the summer on Saturday.
Westchester County Parks and Recreation will have masks and COVID tests on hand for anyone one who might need them.
Glen Island Park is for Westchester residents only.
Croton Point Beach and Harbor Island Park are both open to the public.
