Gov. Cuomo says an alarming number of New Yorkers are still getting COVID-19 – 18% of which are from Long Island, where the governor was Wednesday for his daily briefing.
"With everything we've done – closed schools, closed businesses, everybody shelter at home, the precautions about wearing a mask, wear gloves…You still have 600 new cases that walked through the door yesterday," said Gov. Cuomo.
The governor said 66% of those new patients were not essential workers. According to new data from hospitals, most patients are over 51 years old and were at home when they contracted the virus. The governor said that data will help when it comes to reopen New York state.
