Small craft breweries are now going to save on taxes.A new law signed by Gov. Andrew Cuomo gives New York breweries that produce 60 million or fewer gallons of beer a break from paying an annual liquor fee.Brooklyn Brewery owner Steve Hindy says the restoration of the tax benefit will allow him to expand his business. Hindy says he'll be able to hire five more employees by the end of the year, but wouldn't have been able to hire any without the tax benefit. The law also creates a farm brewery license that allows craft brewers to expand their operations by opening restaurants or selling new products in hopes of increasing demand for locally grown farm products.
