Gov. Kathy Hochul is asking President Donald Trump to suspend ICE operations in New York after an ICE-involved shooting in the Bronx Thursday.

She says things have gone "too far."

ICE officers shot a man in Marble Hill that left a 28-year-old man wounded and a 5-year-old boy caught in the chaos.

Homeland Security Chief Markwayne Mullin says officers opened fire because the suspect's car accelerated toward them, and they believed their lives were in danger.

Mullin says the officers did not know the man's 5-year-old child was in the car with him.

The man was shot in the neck and child was unharmed.

ICE says the man was in the country illegally and had a criminal record.
