More affordable housing is on its way to Brooklyn, according to Gov. Kathy Hochul.
Gov. Hochul says the state has set aside $400 million for affordable homes across New York.
Brooklyn is getting a share of $253 million. Hochul says $170.3 million will go toward the construction of an innovative urban village in East New York.
It's expected to make 385 affordable homes in the neighborhood.
There will be $82.8 million in funding used to expand the Marcus Garvey apartments, which will bring 178 affordable homes to Brownsville.
