While rooftop farming is nothing new in Brooklyn, one Gowanus woman is using new technology to grow fruits and vegetables on her roof.
Frieda Lim's mini-farm uses a sub-irrigated planter system that doesn't irrigate the plants by pouring water on top of the soil.
Lim says the technology reduces soil contamination and is environmentally friendly.
