Graffiti has been removed from the Holocaust Memorial Park in Sheepshead Bay.
Councilman Chaim Deutsch took to Twitter, posting photos and writing, "I was notified that graffiti was discovered at the Holocaust Memorial Park in Sheepshead Bay. It's distressing that the sacred nature of the Holocaust Memorial, which brings comfort to survivors within our community, was disrespected. I have notified @NYPD61Pct & @NYCParks."
The 61st Precinct responded to the councilman and said they were investigating.
News 12 reached out to the Parks Department, and a spokesperson responded saying, "We learned there were graffiti markings in the park today, and quickly removed it. It was not anti-Semitic or bias language."
