AMA Animal Rescue in Gravesend faces closure in October leaving dozens of animals in limbo.
The AMA Animal Rescue, located at 2815 Cropsey Ave., has been in business for six years, but its doors may be closing in October.
Anna Khazanova, president and co-owner, says as their lease comes to end, and with the influx of animals being surrendered by their owners, the current space isn't big enough to care for the animals in need.
Khazanova says AMA is a no kill shelter and nonprofit. The organizations current landlord is looking for a long term lease, but with increased need and lack of resources, finically finding a bigger space has become difficult.
The organization is now turning to the community for help, whether it be donations, resources and/or adoptions.
